Stoffel's Shady Oaks Resort

Booked a week at the last minute and had a great time! The hospitality was fantastic - Tom and Sharon are very outgoing, friendly, and accommodating! Great hosts! The cabin I stayed in was perfect for me (by myself this trip). And the fishing was the best I have experienced over all of the 50 years (off and on) that I have fished Clam Lake. The 40-inch, 20-pound Northern Pike I caught the first morning was the biggest that I ever caught there. Overall the Northerns were bigger on average than ever. And while mainly fishing for Northern, 1/3 of the fish caught were Bass, and some nice ones at that. It is just one indication that the lakes are on the mend after the Carp disaster a number of years back. I am planning to return next year in the fall and looking into a spring fishing trip as well. Recommend!

We came upon Shady Oaks by chance 4 years ago and were met by Sharon's smiling face and warm greeting. She and Tom have done an amazing job of creating a clean, friendly and affordable relaxing vacation resort. They have a way of making you feel like family yet giving you the privacy that makes this the perfect getaway. We look forward every year now to our time at Stoffel's and couldn't recommend this resort more!

I rented their Pontoon boat to hang out with family and friends for the day. The owners are sweetheart! They treated us like family and were very helpful and accommodating. Definitely the best experience we could ever have asked for. Pontoon was very clean and very well taken care of.

My Grandma and Grandpa owned and ran the Shady Oaks Resort back in the 60s and 70s. Lots of great memories going up there every year, fishing, boating and swimming. I am glad to see the resort is still open , and looking great.

My wife and I stumbled across this resort in off-season and Sharon gave us a tour of all their cabins. We were able to visit in August 2018 and loved the property and hospitality. We put our boat in and kept it just outside the cabin for a week of fishing. Toured the area in the afternoons and fished in the mornings and evenings. We even cleaned some fish at their onsite facility. The only negative was the amount of weeds in the lake, a rarity according to locals and other guests, which we were able to overcome but it limited some lake activities. Still caught some northerns and lots of nice bluegills.

Didn't stay here but rented one of Tom & Sharon Stoffels motor boats that were docked right on the lake to cruise around lower and upper Clam Lakes which are connected underneath the highway. The price was very affordable at only around $175/day. Tom and Sharon were so kind and accommodating and fun to talk to and their boat was perfect for our family of 7 and had plenty of power and we could've easily water ski'd or pulled a tube behind but we didn't have those accessories so we just explored. The grounds of the Stoffel's Shady Oaks Resort was magical and beautiful! I can't recommend renting a motor boat or pontoon from the Stoffel's enough. And if we didn't already have a VRBO rented we would have been happy to stay at their resort but didn't know anything about this resort until we asked around town for boat rentals and were directed here.

Our family went to Shady Oaks Wisconsin in July of 1952. Have photos yet and sure looks like this. I would love to visit this once again. At 80 years old why not.

We have had two stays of a week each here. The Stoffels are exceptional hosts and the lakefront has everything. Our cabin was clean and comfortable. We swam, paddled, boated, fished, grilled. This place made for a perfect Northwoods vacation. Must do it again.
